This is the cathedral of Florence. Santa Maria delle Fiori (Santa Maria dei Fiori) is a Gothic cathedral, begun in 1296 by the architect Arnolfo di Cambio and continued from 1331 by Giotto di Bondoni, who created its beautiful free-standing campanile, and later by other architects. The cathedral has a Latin cross plan with three naves. As is typical of Italian Gothic, it tends towards horizontality and polychromy, interspersed with courses of stone and marble. It took 25 years to complete the dome when the cathedral had already been under construction for 130 years..

The Taj Mahal is a mausoleum built between 1631 and 1653 in the city of Agra, India, near the Yamuna River. Famous for immortalising one of the most significant love stories known to mankind, it has also been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1983 and has been listed as one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World since 2007. The mausoleum was built by order of Emperor Shah Jahan to honour the memory of his favourite wife, Arjumand Banu Begum, better known as Mumtaz Mahal. It represents both the vision of the Islamic spiritual life of the monarch and his consort, and the symbol of love made devotion, which only a monarch can materialise.
